Eater Chicago: Cemitas Puebla

After drawing numerous accolades for its traditional poblano sandwiches in an unassuming taqueria in Humboldt Park, Cemitas Puebla will officially join the big boys tomorrow when its second location opens on Fulton Market. It serves the exact same menu as the original but the comparisons to the new spot end there.

While proprietor Tony Anteliz and team are still putting the finishing touches on the space, the unique design should fit right into to one of the hottest dining districts in Chicago while simultaneously paying homage to the restaurant’s roots. Dia de los muertes skulls (more will be added before tomorrow) adorn a wooden wall on one side of the narrow space, opposite a hand-painted mural of the logo and an ode to the “spirit of Puebla.”…
